The FSM-60S Fusion Splicer sets the standard for core alignment fusion splicing by incorporating a user-friendly interface with enhanced features to provide the most rugged and reliable fusion splicer in the market today. The new rugged construction adds improved reliability by resisting shock, dust, and rain, and can withstand a 30” drop test.

The FSM-60S splices a fibre in 9 seconds and heats a 60mm splice sleeve in 30 seconds, for a total cycle time of only 39 seconds. New features, such as automatic tube heater operation, user-selectable clamping method (sheath clamp or fibre holder system), automated monitor image orientation, and battery charge capability during splicer operation provide the end user a productivity tool they can count on.

The FSM-18R Fusion Splicer is a 4-fibre ribbon splicer with similar versatility and robust nature of the Fujikura 12-fibre ribbon splicer. Well-suited for FTTx or LAN applications, the FSM-18R fusion splicer can splice up to 4 fibres, as well as, single fibres. The enhanced robust features provide resistance to shock, dust, and rain to minimize downtime and improve operational performance and withstands a 30” drop test.

Fujikura’s FSM-45F splicer is designed with both of these applications in mind, today’s research and factory splicing applications require a tremendous amount of flexibility.

The FSM-45F splicer is designed to handle dissimilar fibre combinations with ease and splices various types of fibres ranging from < 80µm to 400µm clad diameter fibres. The FSM-45F splicer features Fujikura’s patented Sweep™ arc technology to minimize splice loss between different combinations.

Since the transition from research to production is so critical, these splicer's have been designed to be compatible with SpliceMaster and SpliceLab software packages, and a full set of LabVIEW® drivers, enabling a wide variety of additional functions, including splicing based upon test meter feedback (attenuation, polarization, etc.). Communication is through a USB interface.

The Fujikura FSM-45F-LDF is a new version of the standard FSM-45F designed to provide enhanced capabilities for splicing large diameter fibres (LDF).  Fibres with cladding diameters up to 500μm can be automatically aligned and spliced using proven Fujikura alignment techniques.

A high powered arc discharge unit provides the power necessary for LDF splicing, and large diameter electrodes provide durability for LDF splicing in a production environment.  The electrodes feature dual position adjustability to provide the proper arc environment and intensity regardless of fibre diameter.

A wide field of view camera provides the capabilities required for automated LDF alignment while maintaining precision for conventional 125μm fibre core-alignment and splicing.

The FSM-45F-LDF retains all the other capabilities of the standard splicer, including sweep arc technology for dissimilar fibre splicing, high strength and short cleave length splicing, and great programmability and control while maintaining simplicity of operation.

Since the transition from research to production is so critical, this splicer has been designed to be compatible with AFL Telecommunications’ SpliceMaster and SpliceLab software packages, and a full set of LabVIEW® drivers, enabling a wide variety of additional functions, including splicing based upon test meter feedback (attenuation, polarization, etc.). Communication is through a USB interface.
